UK Committees into TSE
These were mainly formed as a result of the BSE epidemic and were asked
by Government to advise as to the action that should be taken.
The major problem with all this was that few scientists in the UK knew
enough about the subject to be able to advise and it is now surprising
that mistakes were made.
Also, tin the early 1990s of the committees were unable to make their
findings public or to be sure that Government would take any notice them
anyway.

an attempt is made at historis of the individual committees.
